9:00am: Red Bandanna Run
5k Run on Campus honoring Welles Remy Crowther '99
Welles was killed in the September 11th attacks & this will be the 5th annual run in his honor.
He was a member of the BC Men's Lacrosse team and graduated in 1999.

12:30pm: FOJ Lacrosse Clinic
Lacrosse clinic for girls of all ages. $25 per participant and proceeds will help benefit the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation & pediatric brain tumor awareness. Clinic will be held on the Newton Campus Lacrosse field.

3:30pm: Alumnae Game & Reception
All women's lacrosse alumnae are invited to join us on our year-old field for a fun afternoon! Whether you have been playing a lot since graduation or haven't picked up a stick, we encourage you to attend! It is a fun-filled game - nothing too serious! A reception for alumnae, team, parents and coaches will be held immediately following!

Jacqueline Fiore: Racing for a Cure

In June of 2006, Jacqueline Fiore (BC alum ’06 and former player) was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. After undergoing six months of intense chemotherapy, Jacqueline has been in remission for two and half years. Unfortunately, Jacqueline’s very close friend and former teammate at Garden City High School, Stacy Leondis lost her battle to cancer in June of 2008.

Jacqueline and her boyfriend, Kevin Sweikata, have been training for the Rock ‘N Roll marathon in San Diego on May 31st. They will be running the race in honor of their friend Stacy. Their ultimate goal is not only to finish the race, but to find a cure!

ALUMNAE GAME in REVIEW!

The Eagles made their fall debut last weekend kicking off the fall season with an Alumnae Game and reception on Saturday and a big tournament at Harvard on Sunday!

Alumnae Game & Reception

We welcomed back nine Alumnae from 1985-2008! Noreen Craine '85, Christy Plotner '99, Jaime Baldante McCarthy '00, Honor Crowther Fagan '01, Brooke Wilson '06, Brennan Joyce '07, Elizabeth Kadison '06 (G '07), Shauna Culhane '08, and Courtney Zwirko '08 were all in attendence. We mixed the teams and played two halves of GREAT lacrosse! Highlights included seeing Courtney Zwirko play the field after four years of protecting the goal, Elizabeth Kadison doing her signature crease rolls, and Brennan Joyce continually keeping all of us in hysterics. Additionally, it was great to have Judith Theriault, our Friends of Jaclyn honorary teammate, cheering us on and taking the draw at various points throughout the game!

A HUGE thank you goes to Jaime McCarthy for all of her hard work in pulling together this alumnae game...one which we hope is the first of many more to come! Both Honor Fagan and Noreen Craine brought their children with them which was an added bonus for all of us - making it a family affair! After the game, the 2009 team, along with some parents and the alumnae, joined together for a gathering at Union St in Newton Centre. It was great having everyone in one place and was a chance for many to reconnect. Hopefully these games and gatherings will become larger and larger with each passing year.
